CITY OF IMOLA AWARD

The Imola Piano Academy promotes, during the Summer Festival, the City of Imola Award, an event which wants to enhance the best talents who take part in the Summer Masterclasses.  In the City of Imola Award only the external students can take part. The Enrollment fee for the award is € 20,00.

The Prize Money has a total amount of 20,000 € divided as it follows:

  • € 15.000 for the prizes of the three categories
  • € 5.000,00 for the special prize to the talent “Florence Marzotto Daniel” offered by Veronica and Dominique Marzotto.

RULES

The City of Imola Award is divided in three categories:

CAT A (17- 25 anni)
I premio € 3000
II premio € 2000
III premio € 1000

CAT B (13-16 anni)
I premio € 3000
II premio € 2000
III premio € 1000

CAT C (6-12 anni)
I premio € 1500
II premio € 1000
III premio € 500

Special Prize to the Talent “Florence Daniel Marzotto” € 5000 : it will be assigned to the most talented participant

PRELIMINARY AUDITION 

In order to take part in the City of Imola Award, all the applicants will have to pass a preliminary audition held by Maestro Franco Scala, Founder and Director of the Imola Piano Academy, with other jusdges selected by him. The programm will be free both as total lenght and pieces. The applocants who pass the audition will have acces to the semifinals.

SEMIFINALS

The selected candidates from the preliminary audition round will take part in the semifinals together with the chinese and japanese pianists who passed the spring selection held in their respective countries. All the candidates will have to present a free programm respecting the following legnts:
CAT A 35 minutes maximum
CAT B 20 minutes maximum 
CAT C 10 minutes maximum

FINAL

The first three seminfinalist of each category will acceed to the Final Round.

The candidates will have to present a free programm which can include the same pieces presented in the previous rounds respecting the following lenghts:

CAT A 35 minutes maximum
CAT B 20 minutes maximum 
CAT C 10 minutes maximum

At the end of the final round the Commission will assign the prizes to the 9 finalists: the Commission will be composed by teachers of the Academy.
